Pottery and Sculpture Classes and Workshops
At The Shire Workshops, we offer a range of creative pottery and sculpture classes. Classes run for a number of weeks or as a one or half-day course. The workshop is available on an hourly basis for you to come and do whatever you want. Private tuition is also available. Please see details below.

Ceramics / Pottery Classes
8-week classes
Learn how to throw pots on the pottery wheel, slab, and coil build handbuilt pots, decoration and glazing techniques, sculpture, and Raku. Take your finished pottery creations home with you at the end of the course.

Raku Workshops
Full-day workshops
Join in the magic and excitement of Raku Glaze Firings with our one-day course. Spend the day learning about this amazing pottery art form that originated in Japan in the 16th century. With its dramatic mix of earth, fire, air, and water, Raku firing is an exciting approach to pottery, with quick results.

Pal Tiya Sculpture Workshops
Full-day workshops
Using the magic of Pay Tiya Premium, learn to make sculptures that will last outdoors in all weather conditions. And, at the end of this one-day class, you can take your sculpture home with you! It’s an incredible and fun product. Add water. Knead like dough. Sculpt. Place it in your garden. Cures permanently stone hard. No firing, no molds, no kidding!

Craft Workshops
Half-day workshops
We offer a range of alternative half-day Craft Workshops provided by NixieMade.com, including Silver Jewellery, Bead Making, and other crafts. They run on a Saturday or Sunday.
Studio Time
Book studio time
Come and use the studio facilities as your own. The studio is available for you to book to work on your own projects without tuition. Book time slots for Bench Time or Wheel Time and continue your skills development and creative journey. You can also book private tuition in your chosen area of pottery (Handbuilding, Wheel throwing, Sculpture).
